Health Mate built the first infrared cabin designed for the home in 1979, at a time when infrared therapy lived in clinics and treatment rooms. 47 years and 250,000 customers later, it is still the only thing we make. We are the manufacturer, not a distributor, so design, build and five stages of quality control all happen under one roof. Every refinement since has been made to answer one question: does this make the session work better for the person inside it?
Patented Tecoloy®
More wavelengths is not more therapy. It is more spec sheet. Our patented Tecoloy® heaters produce long wave infrared across 5,600 to 7,000 nanometres, averaging around 6,340nm, the range human tissue absorbs most efficiently. Very little energy is spent heating the air or the surface of your skin, so it raises your core temperature by around 1.5°C while the cabin stays comfortable.
Low-EMF Technology
Low EMF is designed in from the start, not added later. Our heaters are paired with a separately engineered, patented low EMF controller, and our saunas are independently EMF and ELF tested. In our showroom we measure under 1 milligauss on a gauss meter, and we are happy to run that test in front of you when you visit. If you would like the test documentation for a specific model, just ask and we will send it over.
Lifetime Warranty
We build our saunas to be used every day for decades, and we back that with a lifetime warranty on our indoor saunas. Because we manufacture every cabin ourselves, we know exactly what goes into them and stand behind every component. Our Outdoor Sauna carries a lifetime warranty on the interior and a 5 year warranty on the weatherproof exterior. Our UK team handles any after sales support directly, so you are never passed on to a third party.

Delivery is included on every cabin in the range, and every sauna arrives with the heaters, controls, lighting and Bluetooth speakers already built in, so there are no add on packs needed to get the full experience. Energy Consumption
Because Tecoloy® heat warms you rather than the air, a Health Mate does not need to run for long or run hot to do its job. Our Enrich range draws around 1,820W, similar to a hairdryer, and costs approximately 65p per session. Most of the range plugs straight into a standard 13 amp UK socket with no dedicated circuit needed. Our larger Inspire Lounge models need a 16 amp supply, which we will talk you through before you order.
Not every infrared sauna works in the same way. Shortwave infrared (IR-A) mainly penetrates the surface of the skin and can feel taxing or uncomfortable at higher temperatures. After 10 minutes, shortwave infrared becomes taxing for the body. Longwave infrared (IR-C), such as with Health Mate, heats the body from the inside out. As a result, your core temperature rises safely and in a controlled manner, without overheating the skin. This makes longwave infrared not only more comfortable, but also therapeutically more effective for the heart, muscles, joints, and recovery.
Health Mates operatives showed up on time and with minimal fuss installed the Sauna in a couple of hours. Very happy with the Sauna and pleased with the infra red version. The Sauna was set up in an outbuilding at the bottom of my garden so required a bit more transporting than one into a house but this wasn’t an issue for the lads.
Though installed late due to unavoidable circumstances, kept informed thought. Everyone polite and very thoughtful. Richard was very good in explaining workings after installation patiently. I only wish the sound of Bluetooth speaker (whilst connecting only) could be less.

Received in good time frame. Delivery drivers were brilliant put together well. I have had 6 saunas so far Unsure if reaching right temp does not feel hot enough to me. Perfect for my wife she has osteoarthritis helps with pain management. Waiting for Towel rail as requested with Gert who I purchased throug. Will follow up with a further review at a later date
An infrared sauna uses infrared heat to warm the body more directly rather than relying mainly on very hot surrounding air. This allows for a comfortable sauna experience at lower temperatures than many traditional saunas.
A Health Mate session typically runs between 45 and 65°C. That is cooler than a traditional Finnish sauna, and it is intentional. Infrared warms your body directly rather than heating the air around you, so you get a deep, thorough sweat at a temperature that stays comfortable for the whole session. You set the temperature yourself on the digital controls.
Most sessions last between 20 and 45 minutes. If you are new to infrared, start with 15 to 20 minutes at a lower temperature and build up as you get used to it. Drink plenty of water before and after, and leave the sauna whenever you feel you have had enough.
Many of our customers use their sauna every day, and because the heat is gentle enough to be comfortable, it is easy to make it part of your routine. Infrared is cumulative, so regular sessions matter more than long ones, and most people notice a difference within 30 days. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition or take regular medication, check with your GP before you start.
Our indoor saunas fit in a spare room, bedroom, home gym, garage or loft, anywhere with a level floor and a power socket within reach of the 2m cable. Most models run from a standard 13 amp socket, while the Inspire Lounge models need a 16 amp supply. Our Outdoor Sauna is built to stand in the garden year round on a firm, level base.
